We also offer preventative and predictive maintenance services, including vibration analysis, dynamic balancing, and PdMA testing, to help maximize equipment reliability and uptime.

Machinery Alignment

Full system alignment services that include: laser tracker alignment, OptiAlign laser tools, machinery base repairs, installations and corrections with strong experience in both epoxy and cementitious grouting.

Dry Ice Cleaning

Dry Ice Cleaning Services to clean electric motor and generator windings onsite. No media cleanup. Dry ice is dielectric and won't contaminate windings with moisture

Motor/Generator Services and Testing

Common Motor Services Include: DC Brush Checks, PdMA testing, general troubleshooting and PMs listed in our expanded service cards below. Common Generator Services Include: Tip-Up Testing for 13.8kv Gens, Delta Tan Testing, Diesel Gen Rebuilds, Onsite Reconditioning and Troubleshooting for Municipal, Diesel, Steam, Combustion and Motor/ Gen Combo Sets.

Millwright, Rigging and Crane Services

From the bottom of large iron ore boat mechanical rooms and hydro dams to the top of stacks, grain transfer systems, and everywhere in between. Our crews handle equipment, rigging, moving, installation, removal, alignment, and lifting with the safety, planning, and precision critical work demands to support our turnkey services.

Vibration Analysis and Dynamic Balancing

Kurz supports many of our customers with preventative and predictive Vibration testing and analysis on motors, generators and rotating equipment. We can deploy a team member quickly to help troubleshoot and fix the diagnosis with dynamic fan balancing or deeper corrective actions.

Bearing Inspection & Services

With more than half of all motor failures caused by bearing issues, proactive inspection and field corrections extend the life of all rotating equipment. We can help with field overtemp, out of round, lubrication & fluting detection along with field change outs, babbitt bearing inspections, rebuilds and proper lubrication training to help keep your equipment spinning smoothly.

Blower Repair

Onsite Support and Turnkey Removal, repair, and reinstall for:

Hydro Generation Equipment Services

Kurz supports hydro facilities with service, testing, repair, and technical support for critical generation equipment. Our work includes complete turnkey solutions for: hydro generators, turbines, governors, dampers, gates, controls, and related mechanical and electrical systems that keep the water & power flowing.

Panel & Controls Services

Our Automation team has years of experience with startup, testing and troubleshooting in system controls. Pairing them with our on-site team allows us to support full removal, replacement and commissioning of your control panels.
